ALL TRAIL RIDES ARE WALKING ONLY UNLESS YOU BOOK A FAST RIDE – SEE FAQ BELOW FOR SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED WHEN BOOKING A FAST RIDE.
Yes, a reservation is required to ensure that we can choose the right horse for you based on your height, weight, age, and riding skill level. The easiest way to book is online by clicking on one of the booking buttons on this page. We recommend making your reservation at least a week in advance, as we tend to book up on weekends. To complete your reservation, we require the first and last name, height, weight, and age for each rider. If we have no availability for the time and date you want to book, you are welcome to join our waitlist by clicking on the Join Waitlist button and completing your request.
Our weight limit is 240lbs for your safety and to protect our horses. If you arrive and are over our weight limit, you will not be allowed to ride, and no refund will be offered. We do not allow two riders on one horse, as it is not safe and is too uncomfortable for both the child and the adult on our type of trails. Children aged 6 years or older can ride, and we have pony rides available for smaller children where the parent or responsible adult leads the pony around our grounds.
Even if you have not ridden a horse before, you can still take a trail ride with us. All of our rides begin with a lesson on proper riding position, controlling the horse, equine behavior, and trail safety. Our guides will coach riders throughout the ride.
If you arrive 10 or more minutes after your ride start time, you may be assessed a Late Fee of $10 per rider. If your booking is on any of the afternoon trail rides and all riders have not arrived and mounted by 4:45 pm, individual riders may be assessed a $25 per rider fee for an after-hours trail ride.
We recommend wearing long pants and sturdy, closed-toed shoes. No heels taller than 1” or wedge heels are allowed. Wear weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a rain jacket if rain is in the forecast. If you have reusable water bottles, bring them, as they fit in our packs better than single-use bottles. For safety reasons, no purses or backpacks are allowed on trail/lunch rides. We provide waist packs with bottle holders and a zippered compartment for your personal items.
It is mandatory to wear helmets. Kindly ensure that the helmet fits appropriately over your hairstyle. Hairstyles such as buns, high ponytails, extensions, and braids may require adjustments to ensure a proper fit. We offer helmets for your convenience.
All individuals on our property must sign a waiver, not just riders. The link to the waiver is included in your confirmation email, which you can forward to all members of your group. Minors must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. We do not offer the option of filling out a paper waiver and ask that you complete your online waiver prior to arrival to avoid delays at check-in.
We allow you to ride to your skill level, and we offer Fast Rides for experienced riders. There is an additional per-person charge for this ride, and it can be booked online. Our trail rides are walk rides only. Fast riders must be able to post the trot and have extensive and recent riding experience. For your safety, your skill level will be evaluated by our staff, and if they feel there is a safety issue, the pace of the ride will be adjusted. We also offer any of our Trail Rides as a Private Ride for an additional per-person charge. We also offer the Private Group Trail Ride for groups of 5 or more riders. The Private Group Trail Ride can be booked for 1 or 1.5 hours and offers a $20 per rider savings over regular Private Ride bookings. All of these options can be booked online.
We offer fabulous picnic rides on the Ranch and to two different locations on the Spring Creek Greenway. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are included on all lunch/picnic rides.
If you are riding with a group and want to book online but pay separately, simply have the riders book separately. To take advantage of the group rates, it is imperative to make a collective booking and payment as a single group. Upon checking in for your trail ride, let the staff know you are together so we can send you out on the trail with your group.
We ride on wooded trails along Cypress Creek and Spring Creek. All rides are guided, and helmets are required. Please ensure that a helmet will fit properly over your hairstyle. We provide helmets.
We ride in light rain and monitor the Doppler weather radar to avoid heavy rains and thunderstorms.
Please ensure that you have confirmed the correct day and time of your booking with our office or yourself. In the event that you are unable to ride with us due to unforeseen circumstances, kindly inform us at your earliest convenience by calling 281-446-7232. We appreciate your communication and will work with you to re-book the ride, issue a gift card, or refund the ride fee.
Late arrivals will be subject to a Late Fee of $10 per rider if they arrive 10 or more minutes after the ride start time. For afternoon trail rides, if all riders have not arrived and mounted by 4:45 pm, each rider will be assessed a $20 fee for an after-hours trail ride. The credit card on file will be automatically charged.
Our weight limit is 240 lbs, and we regret that we cannot offer refunds or gift cards for overweight riders (over 240 lbs) or customers who choose not to ride. Our booking process has been designed to ensure full disclosure and business policies to all riders prior to scheduling. Horses are reserved immediately, and cancellations on property do not allow time for these horses to be reassigned to other riders.
If a rider is feeling scared, our crew is always available to offer additional coaching and assistance to help them overcome their fear. If a rider still does not want to ride, we will refund the ride fee, less a $15 (per person) Late Cancellation Fee.
To receive a full refund or gift card, customers must cancel their booking 24 hours prior to the ride time. If the ride is cancelled less than 24 hours prior, a $15 Late Cancellation Fee (per person) will be deducted from the refund. No-show customers will not receive any refund.
For rescheduling, there will be no charge for the first reschedule. However, subsequent multiple reschedules may be charged a $15 fee (per person) at the discretion of management.
We do ride in light rain, and the cancellation policy may apply to customers who cancel due to weather concerns when it is fine at Cypress Trails.
In the event of operator cancellation, customers will always receive a full refund or gift card (no cancellation fee).
Kindly refrain from bringing your pets along as we have barn dogs on the premises who may not always exhibit a friendly demeanor towards other animals.
Kindly ensure the accuracy of the weight information for riders, as it is highly appreciated and sometimes essential for us to fulfill your reservation. Owing to the size of our horses, we have a weight limit in place to ensure their health and well-being. We only have a limited number of horses that can carry riders at or near the weight limit. At check-in, we have a scale and may request a customer to step on it if there appears to be a discrepancy between the weight submitted for the reservation and the actual weight of the rider. We prefer not to confirm weight at check-in, and therefore, we request riders to check their weight on a scale at home before booking their ride. This will help avoid unpleasant surprises for everyone involved. Please note that if you exceed our weight limit, we will not be able to provide a refund.

Our regular trail rides are walking only, and this policy is in place for your safety. We use a rating system to select a horse that is appropriate for your skill level. We do allow riders to go faster than a walk, but these must be booked as a Fast Ride, and you must be at Level 3 or above. Please note that booking a Fast Ride does not guarantee that you will be able to trot and canter. Our guides reserve the right to determine the pace of your ride, and they will interview all riders in your group and assess them on the trail to determine the pace of your ride.
We ride "English" style, with two hands on a direct rein and post the trot.
